Chennai Rain Live Updates: PM Modi holds a high level meeting
Today there is no relief for the floods in Chennai as well as in Tamil Nadu. All the schools, colleges and factories were closed. The power supply in the state was suspended and the hospitals were overflowed with both the patients as well as water. The City airports and trains were temporarily shunted. The Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa has viewed the situation and assigns the ministers to inspect the affected regions in the state.
Rajnath said, “I talked to Tamil Nadu CM a week back, had assured her of all assistance. PM also talked to her yesterday.”
As per the records, 187 people have lost their lives in the floods. As Tamil Nadu support for more rain falls in the next four days, CM Jayalalithaa has instructed that the police, National and State Disaster Forces and Coast Guard, fire and rescue to be ready in case of people from flood hit regions are required to be send away from the place.
