The state government is planning to prepare action plan to help families of AIDS victims and further to restrain the malady. Minister for social welfare, R. Kishore babu interacted with the HIV infected children of 13 districts during a programme conducted by World Vision India here on Tuesday Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that there are 41,000 AIDS patients in Guntur district. Hence, departments concerned were directed to work to resolve the issues.
Mr Kishore babu said that earlier cholera, TB and leprosy largely troubled society but later medical innovations restrained these maladies. He hoped that similarly, HIV patients would get permanent treatment and this pernicious malady would be restrained in future. He said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will draw an action soon to help families of AIDS victims and further to restrain the malady. Hence, a meeting with AIDS control officers would be held soon.
Guntur Zilla Parishad chairperson Sk. Janimun said that HIV infected children can live their life with the support of government aid and modern medicines.
