AP Bandh on 10th September : Protest against Centre’s Denial of Special Status by YSRCP
The YSR Congress Party Chief and the Opposition Leader in Andhra Pradesh Assembly YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday demanded the resignation of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu admitting his failure to get Special Category Status to the State.
Reason for Bandh
Speaking to media at the Assembly, YS Jagan gave a verbal trashing to the CM for his double talk on the issue of Special Status to Andhra Pradesh. “On one hand he says he is striving for Special Status and the other hand expresses happiness over the Centre’s announcement of special package which is of miniscule value to the state,” the YSR Congress Party Chief said adding that only special status can compensate the injustice meted out to Andhra Pradesh in bifurcation.
The YSR Congress Party Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy reminded people about the speech by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where he promised Special State Status by playing his recorded speech given at Tirupati during the elections, and said the NDA was not living up to the poll promise.
YSR Congress Party Chief and the Opposition Leader in Andhra Pradesh Assembly YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Called for a State Wide bandh on Saturday to protest the Centre’s denial of Special Status, YS Jagan appealed to people of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday to support the bandh by participating in the bandh in order to convey their strong demand on the Special State Status to Andhra Pradesh Issue.
“AP lost a well-developed capital in Hyderabad and now we have to build a capital right from the scratch. We need to build an industrial base in the new capital. Attractive packages and tax benefits only can attract new industries to the state. We will fight until we get special status and there won’t be any compromise on the demand,” said the YSR Congress Party chief and the Opposition Leader in Andhra Pradesh Assembly YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Andhra Pradesh State Wide Bandh is in Protest against the Centre’s Denial of Special Status by YSRCP. The bandh is aimed at forcing the Central Government to grant special state status to Andhra Pradesh a grand success.
Due to the call for State Wide Bandh in AP, on September 10, 2016 the future districts tours of YSR Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will stand cancelled until the party draws out and an updated schedule.
