iPhone 6s & iPhone 6s Plus launch :
The ‘S’ upgrades usually comprise under-the-hood rather than major design changes, but the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are rumoured to come in new colours – rose gold and, potentially, pink. And they could include the Force Touch technology built into the Apple Watch and MacBooks, which enables them to tell the difference between a tap and a press. If that’s true, they will be a little thicker (0.2mm) than their predecessors.
While its competitors are increasingly cramming in the phone cameramegapixels, the iPhone has since the 2011 4s had just 8Mp to offer. It does a good job with the hardware it has to hand, but there’s room for well-overdue improvement. Rumour has it the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will come with 12Mp cameras. We could be about to see DSLR-quality photography from the iPhone, according to sources.
Also new will be the Apple A9 chip and M9 motion co-processor hidden inside, promising a welcome performance boost over the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. And will there be 2GB of RAM in the new iPhones? That’s what people are saying. Come on Apple, surprise us.
That’s just a handful of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus rumours circulating on the web. For full details on each phone see iPhone 6s UK release date, price, specification rumours and iPhone 6s Plus UK release date, price, specification rumours.
iOS 9 launch :
With a new iPhone comes new software, and we took our first look at iOS 9 back in June at WWDC. Proactive is the big new feature in iOS 9, promising to learn your habits and suggest apps and actions based on those habits. For example, if you listen to music on your way to work, the iPhone’s Proactive feature will learn this about you and, next time you plug in your headphones during the commute, serve up a Music shortcut on the lock screen.
As we mentioned earlier, many of the upgrades to the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will concentrate on performance rather than design. And so it will be with iOS 9. Battery life is a major bugbear for iPhone users, and something iOS 9 should address, so the fact iOS 9 will also be available to owners of older iPhone handsets should come as good news.
