Assam Election Results 2016 : Assembly elections have been held for the state of Assam recently. The polling was held for 126 constituencies in the state of Assam. The polling was held in two phases. The first phase of polling was held on 4th of April for 65 constituencies and the second phase of polling was held on 11th of April for remaining constituencies. The total polling for both the phases is recorded to be 87. 03%.
Compared to 2011 polling, this time the percentage of polling has increased significantly to more than 10%. As per the exit poll and the surveys done by the channels, it is said that BJP is going to win the majority of seats in the state to form the government this time. This time BJP has made its alliances with BPF and AGP, which helped BJP enter into the winning path. The main parties that are giving their fight are BJP and Congress whilst AIUDF is the third contender in the race.
