An employee from Bengaluru became the victim for gang rape on Saturday. Two men had raped 23 years girl in southeast Bengaluru. Cops in an interview, said that the employee is from Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh. She was returning to her room in HSR Layout with a friend, after working at Bommanahalli. The woman was waiting with her friend to find an auto rickshaw at the Electronics City junction on Hosur Road around 10 pm; suddenly a white tempo traveler stopped in front of her. The van driver and cleaner said they will drop her at the destination – Police said.

The Incident brings back memories of Nirbhaya case

The incident brings back memories of the December 2012 Nirbhaya case of a paramedical student who was brutally raped in a moving van, and later died. Some of the sources said, her friend tried to avoid boarding in to the traveler, but she didn’t listened to her words and get in to it. Once she boarded the van, the cleaner threatened her with a knife and forcibly raped her. The driver even passed the van by Madiwala police station too.

The van then took the way towards the intermediate Ring Road and headed towards Old Airport Road and the men raped the girl at some spot along the road. Later the van driven through Silk Board Junction and ST John’s Hospital Road. At 1 am, they pushed her out of the van at the place where she was picked up. When she boarded the vehicle, there was only the driver and the cleaner. They drove her to a location, which she has not been able to identity yet, and raped her,” said Rohini Katoch Sepat, deputy commissioner of police, southeast.
