Celebrity Cricket League 2016 schedule:The sixth season of Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) is ready to entertain the Indian audience. The latest edition will take off on 23 January, 2016, in Mumbai, and the curtains will be dropped on 14 February.The tournament will feature eight teams that represent film industries of eight languages. The only change at the teams level is Veer Marathi being replaced by Punjab De Sher. The matches will be played in seven states. The Mumbai Heroes will take on Punjab De Sher in the inaugural match.

The teams have been divided into two groups. Every team gets four matches and the top two will qualify for the knockout semi-final stage. The previous five seasons were held in February-March. However, this year’s schedule includes Asia Cup 2016 and ICC World T20 2016 which is why CCL 2016 was preponed from its usual time. The matches will be live telecasted on Sun TV. A press conference announcing the start of CCL 6 was held a couple of days back in Mumbai. They also announced a CSR initiative, where they would support restoring the lives of acid-attack victims in association of Rotary Club of Deonar.
