Election commission has conducted the elections for 150 divisions and 1334 members are participated in the elections. The participated parties are TRS, TDP, BJP, Congress, AIMIM and many other parties, these elections are the first Hyderabad municipal elections after the separation of the united Andhra Pradesh. Previously, the GHMC elections were conducted in 2009, Congress and AIMIM together ruled the municipal corporation. Municipal Corporation elections have been conducted for every five years.
