The government has blocked 2 websites that were getting used by the Islamic State (IS) for information within the country. Two Facebook pages, travel by anonymous persons in Jammu &geographical area to attract kids into connection Jehad, have additionally been removed.

A committee comprising senior officers of Intelligence Bureau, home and information technology ministries, CERT-In (cyber security hindrance body) and different agencies met on Wednesday and mentioned problems associated with terror threats emanating from the web. Its specific focus was on use of social networking sites by terror outfits.

The move comes whilst the govt is coming up with a 24×7 body to trace suspicious activities on web and talks are on with internet service suppliers.

Earlier within the day, Telecommunication Minister Shankar Prasad aforesaid that steps are taken to examine misuse of social media platforms to disrupt communal harmony and national security.
