JNU Student Kanhaiya Kumar Arrested Others Manhandled at Patiala House Court: Delhi JNU student leader Kanhaiya Kumar who was arrested on charges of sedition and sent to jail, was attacked today near Delhi court to find out if he will get bail. Mean While Lawyers raised slogans outside the court premises. The same lawyers who were seen assaulting journalists and JNU students on the Monday were again leading the protests today. According to sources, the clash took place between pro and anti Kanhaiya supporters.

Kanhaiya Kumar has claimed that he was not part of the pro-Afzal Guru event that took place in the Jawaharlal Nehru University. Sources say that he claimed that the participants of the event that took place on February 9 were also not JNU students.Kanhaiya has been arrested in a case of sedition and criminal conspiracy in connection with the alleged anti-national event inside the university premises and is in police custody till Wednesday
The Supreme Court has rushed a team of lawyers including Kapil Sibal with police escort to the lower court.
“I am really shamed,” said Soli Sorabjee, one of India’s most eminent lawyers about the advocates who threw stones at the media and beat up a reporter. “They are goons. Lawyers don’t behave this way.”Based on Monday’s violence, which saw lawyers attacking the media and supporters of Mr Kumar, the Supreme Court this morning ordered very limited access to the lower court where Mr Kumar’s case is being heard.
Before the hearing could begin, two groups of lawyers clashed as they shouted competing slogans supporting or deriding JNU or the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University.
