Kollam fire in Kerala : 106 people dead, over 350 injured
In Kerala at Puttingal Puttingal Devi Temple, the fire accident had been a shocking news which cant be digested by any one. The Kollam fire incide costs many lives people nearly 106 are declared dead where 11 people are dead before reaching to the hospital. And above 350 people got injured and 2 of them are in critical position and admitted in ICU. The fire explosion had taken place around 3:30 a.m. in the temple on Sunday (10th April 2016). Immediately the injured had taken to the near by Medical college hospitals and government hospitals. And some victims were also admitted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical college hospital.
The annual festival celebrations of the Devi temple are held in a grand manner. And fireworks are played as a part of it. Due to this, the spark from the fire works had landed on the storehouse and got explosion. In this explosion many people lost their lives and other got injured. This is the first fire accident occured in the kerala temple.

- Kerala CM Oommen Chandy had cancelled all his programs of the day and arranged all the medical facilities in the hospitals for the treatment.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi had arrived in helicopter to the spot at Kollam at the noon and immediately asked the Health Minister V. S. Sivakumar to visit the accident spot.
- PM Modi had announced compesation of Rs. 2 lakhs to the dead people and Rs. 50,000 to the injured people.
- The Chief Minister Oommen Chandy had visited the spot and addressed the media.
- The CM had announced that a committee had gone through a discussion about this incident and declared that all the illegal firework display will be clamp down.
- PM with Health Minister had make use of all the facilities for the best treatment.
- Burn specialists are arranged for the better treatment to the injured in the medical college hospital.
- Even helicopters are arranged for the transport immediately purpose
- Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had given his support to the Government of Kerala in this incident.
The Police department had cased a file against the the temple festival organizers and fireworks contractor. Because of their irresponsibility in the duty such a tragedy incident had occurred in Kollam temple, Kerala. The officials are investigating the incident spot for more details. Lets hope the betterment of the injured people and pray for the families who lost their loved one in the fire explosion.
