Since Saturday,Indians are unable to access more than 800 porn/adult websites.Indian Government imposed ban on 857 Porn/adult websites as banning websites would reduce the women abuses in the country after several gang rapes in the country. The government’s decision holds constitutional validity. According to Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act 1987, through any form of art, painting, pamphlet, books, representation or computer generated graphics; women should not be portrayed in such a manner which severely dents her modesty. The way woman are objectified and used as commercial instruments in the porn industry violates the provisions of the stringent act. It is a criminal offence.
Prominent porn sites which are the world’s biggest porn sites like Pornhub.com, Brazzers.com, Redtube.com, Xvideos.com, Bangbros.com have been blocked from operating since Saturday. It is feared that the government might clamp on the few remaining too.

2009: A popular cartoon porn website was banned by the government. It’s anonymous owner came out in protest.
2013: Another set of 39 websites were ordered to be blocked. While some of these contained pornographic content, others were non-pornographic file sharing sites, reportedly based out of India operating under a US rule that makes it legal to watch or distribute porn.
August 2015: The social media has been flooded with user complaints about the government of India blocking as many as 857 pornographic websites in an apparent bid to lower abuse against women.Most Popular searching websites like redtube,xnxx and freexvideos etc sites.
It is heard from anonymous sources that Telecom company executives have said it is not possible to block all the sites immediately. “Blocking of all other adult/porn sites can be done one by one in a few days but not immediately”.
The executives statement states that all the remaining pornographic sites would also get blocked in few days along with present blocked 857 sites which are listed below.
