Later, the area was renamed as Narasimharaopeta in the name of jamindar. It further turned into Narsaraopeta. Further, they recalled that the boys of Narsaraopeta used to marry lately as the parents of girls used to show reluctance to perform marriage with Narsaraopeta boys due to shortage of water in the town. They added that the conditions changed and now they are getting drinking water two times per day.
There are 34 municipal wards in the town which are spread in 7.65 sq km. The increased traffic forced the Narsaraopeta municipality to expand the roads. AP Legislative Assembly Speaker K. Sivaprasada Rao said that Narsaraopeta is the only municipality in AP where the public voluntarily cooperated with the municipality by giving their land for road expansion without any dispute or court cases. He added that here the locals extend their cooperation barring political differences for the development of the town. He said that the headquarters of the Guntur rural police would be established at Narsaraopeta and foundation laying ceremony of the rural police headquarters construction works would be held on December 11 by Mr Chandrababu Naidu. Mr Sivaprasada Rao said that on December 12, Mr Venkaiah Naidu will join the celebration and concluding ceremony would be held on Sunday.
