These days, there is no one lane where you would not find a canteen to serve you hot breakfast in the morning. You need not think twice before getting down of your apartment and have the hot idly sambar at your nearest canteen.
With this as the main base, State Government has come up with some interesting project in order to provide good food at affordable rates.
An initiative of a pilot project has been taken up by the State government of setting up of an NTR canteen at Velagapaudi, where also a Secretariat Complex is coming up. The government is also thinking of setting up of a canteen in more two places by July as well.
Details of NTR Canteen:
The Canteen will be giving morning breakfast that includes Idly-sambar and Pongal. In the afternoon, as lunch, it will be supplying lemon rice, sambar rice and curd rice. The cost of the food and other details are not yet mentioned as of now and will be declared soon.

The State Cabinet have also announced that after the NTR canteens, they will be going ahead with Anna canteens. In the neighboring state of AP, Tamil Nadu, a committee has been constituted to look after this program that includes Municipal Administration Minister P. The Anna canteen in Tamil Nadu was visited by the sub-committee and we have similar canteens in Telangana as well. NTR canteen in Mahanadu, a TDP conclave was organised recently in Tirupathi.
The main responsibility of all the canteens will be given Akshayapatra Foundation, said Ms Sunitha in a recent meeting held.
