Retail Stores in Hyderabad Metro Stations
Project developer L&T announced today that each metro station of Hyderabad Metro Rail will have retail space from 2,500 square feet to 9,000 square feet while interchange and special stations will have more space. Two stores of 180 and 200 square feet have been established at Nagole station as a display to retailers and others to have them a first experience of the planned space.
L&T Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd chief executive and managing director VB Gadgil on today launched the sample retail stores and revealed the retail development plans. Under the brand name Hyderabad Next, the retail area at the stations is being developed to provide to the daily requirements of passengers making metro their one stop destination.

Every Metro Station Have Retail Space in Hyderabad Metro Rail
Each Metro station will have convenience stores like grocery, vegetable, daily needs, accessory stores, restaurants, food courts, ATMs and medical stores. There are a total of 64 stations including 55 usual stations, three interchange stations and four special stations.
A usual station will have retail space from 2,500 square feet to 9,000 square feet at two locations at an open space level. Station retail space will have stores sizes from 100 square feet to 350 square feet while entry and exit to retail area will have store sizes from 1,000 square feet to 2,500 square feet. Interchange and special stations will have retail areas from 10,000 square feet to 40,000 square feet with store sizes from 1,500 square feet to any maximum possible size.
These metro stations are being considered to be made as on stop stations with kids, women, electronic, and entertainment themes. The L&T developer has also come up with a unique advertising model to make the advertising business more professional with reduced risk and return on investment to brands.
