Live: Under-construction flyover collapses in Kolkata, at least 14 people killed
A fraction of a Vivekananda flyover collapsed on Thursday afternoon leaving some trapped. Rescue processes are in progress and officials are trying to drag out people trapped under mounds of debris. Disaster Management Groups, officials of Kolkata Police and Fire and Emergency Services are at the discontinued. DMG officials are using gas cutters to put aside trapped people.
According to ANI, ten people have expired. Rescue operations are underway near Ganesh Talkies (Girish Park) in Kolkata. Eyewitness says that there could be approximately 150 people below the rubble. The flyover was the thing of some argument, with plenty of inhabitants complaining about it, chiefly due to the overcrowding it caused.

A flyover which was under-construction shrunken near Ganesh Talkies in Kolkata’s Girish Park Friday afternoon. The Vivekanand flyover close to Burrabazar was under construction as lots of years and is close to the well-known Ganesh Talkies. It has fail to spot lots of deadlines previous. A big portion of the flyover fell on the road below that is thickly congested with big number of vehicles continually passing by. Populations living close to articulated shock as they obviously witnessed the breakdown of the flyover to the ground. Union Minister Babul Supriyo blamed TMC, the state government, for the lives gone and violating the regulations in building the flyover. Two groups of NDRF being rushed to Ganesh Talkies area of North Kolkata to help in save work.
CM of Kolkata Reached the Spot
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has arrived at the spot of the occurrence and is supervision the event. 17 cranes have been hurried to the spot but because of the overcrowding are unable to reach the spot. The hurt are being taken to Calcutta Medical College.”Very soon, we will be performing the rescue process with the assist of state authorities and local police,” Singh told now.”
