Vodafone India To Roll Out 4G Service By End Of 2015

NEW DELHI: Vodafone India, is the second largest telecom service provider in india. Vodafone India CEO Sunil Sood’s Friday said that it will launch its 4G services by end of the year 2015 with Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Kochi being the part of the first wave of the roll-out.

The telecommunications company said that tests of the 4G service has started successfully, and has already roped in technology infrastructure service providers for network deployment. Vodafone is building architecture rugged and strong network backhaul to support volumes and the need for speed customers.

The telecommunications company said it will also launch its own 3G networks in seven circles – Assam, North East, West UP, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Kerala and Odisha, 3G expand its global footprint to 16 circles across the country.

Vodafone India had taken 4G (LTE) of additional spectrum in 5 circles like Delhi, Mumbai, Kerala, Kolkata, and in February 2014 Karnataka auctions. These circles together contribute about 50 percent of total data revenues Vodafone India.

“In recent months, Vodafone India has taken several steps to modernize its radio network and switching systems. Load platforms have also been updated to provide a wider range of products and services branch,” he said.

The main investments were made in high capacity fiber / backhaul to significantly increase Internet connectivity in the world.

Airtel was the first operator in India to deploy 4G services in the country. It is already offering its 4G network around 290+ cities in India. Reliance Jio, which has pan-India 4G license, is also expected to launch its 4G network in December.
