VVIP chopper scam:
Throwing a frontal attack on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi government and Congress over the AgustaWestland chopper scam, Delhi chief minister Aravind Kejriwal on Saturday said the Prime Minister was frightened of taking action against Congress president Sonia Gandhi. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not have “enough courage” to arrest Sonia Gandhi over an allegation of AgustaWestland chopper scam. Kejriwal says that the two parties Congress and Modi government have an “alliance in corruption”.
On behalf of an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) protest at Jantar Mantar over the AgustaWestland chopper scam, Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi said: “Why is the central government not taking Sonia Gandhi into custody when she is allegedly involved in the AgustaWestland scam – because Narendra Modi does not have the ample courage to arrest her.”
Kejriwal says Modi is scared of arresting Sonia
Kejriwal also questioned the Congress party regarding the issue of Prime Minister’s suspected “fake” degree. Mr. Kejriwal said the two parties had a “setting” that the BJP government will not arrest Ms. Sonia Gandhi in the AgustaWestland chopper scam and the Congress party will not raise the issue of Mr. Modi’s educational qualification.
Scores of Aam Aadmi Partyleaders along with their followers protested at Jantar Mantar over the VVIP chopper corruption scam.Kejriwal said although the corruption scam came to lime light a couple of years back the Modi government did not even attempted to do any kind of investigations.
“What has the central government done in the last two years? Modi ji promised to fight against corruption but he has betrayed the nation by not taking any action against the AgustaWestland scam accused,” Kejriwal, the AAP National Convener, said.
He also criticized the central government for not taking any kind of action against Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra who façadesnumerous corruption allegations.
Kejriwal on Friday i.e., on May 7, 2016 had taken slams at the central government for not taking any action against the suspect in the AgustaWestland chopper scam.
The bribery charges in the chopper agreement has swayed parliament with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the Centre and the opposition government Congress exchanging charges on one another.
