WhatsApp Video Calling Feature New: From one year WhatsApp’s entry into the voice calling market was unsurprising, as after taking over the messaging scene around the world, getting into voice calls was a natural step. Bills Insider The report adds that the official version of WhatsApp, which is currently in the iOS App Store, carries the version number 2.12.12 and, developers along with beta testers are currently working on 2.12.16.2 version. In addition, the colour green will become more dominant in WhatsApp for iOS’. This is said to make the iPhone version more consistent with the Android version.
WhatsApp Video Calling Feature New Tabbed Design leaked
WhatsApp crossed the 900 million users milestone this year in September. In February last year, WhatsApp was acquired by social networking site Facebook, its biggest buyout till date, for a whopping USD 19 billion.The report further claims that the WhatsApp video calling feature has been finalized by developers and beta testers and will be released in the coming weeks. Similar to Skype, users will be able to switch between front and back camera while using WhatsApp video calling feature.
Along with video calling support, WhatsApp developers are also working on a new design currently testing a tabbed interface for the app. Making it easier for the users to switch between chats, the tabbed interface will be similar to browser windows where chat windows will each take their own tabs for easier navigation. The same report further says that there will be more use of green color in the new design.
The report sources these leaked screenshots to a “whistleblower,” so take this with a dash of salt as far as the timing of the release is concerned. The WhatsApp video calling feature has long been expected, however, the messaging app isn’t really famous for rolling out major features so soon.
