Xiaomi Mi Max with 6.44-Inch Display Launched – Unveils MIUI 8
Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone manufacturing company has launched a new smartphone namely Mi Max. At the Tuesday event of Xiaomi, the Chinese firm has unveiled its new MIUI 8 ROM apart from the launch of new Mi Max smartphone. The event was held in Beijing, China at the China National Convention Center. The company has launched the three variants of the Mi Max smartphone in China at different price range. Specifications and Features
The new Xiaomi Mi Max sports a massive 6.44-inch full-HD display with a pixel resolution of 1080 x 1920 with a pixel density of 342ppi. In terms of size, this smartphone is the biggest smartphone in the company’s series. The device sports an all-metal body which will be available in three variant colours such as Dark Grey, Gold, and Silver colours. The smartphone comes with slim and slender shape of 7.5mm. The new Phablet from Xiaomi also features a fingerprint scanner which is located at the rear panel of the device.
On the camera front, the Xiaomi Mi Max comes equipped with a 16-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus (PDAF) and LED flash. On the flip side, the smartphone bears a 5-megapixel front camera on board with 85-degree wide-angle view, and f/2.0 aperture.
In terms of Connectivity, the new Mi Max supports the following connectivity options:
- 4G LTE with VoLTE
- Bluetooth 4.2
- GPS/ A-GPS with Glonass
- Wi-Fi 802.11ac with Mimo
The smartphone is power-packed by a massive 4850mAh battery. It device features a hybrid SIM tray. The smartphone also has an infrared emitter to act as a universal remote control, besides an ambient light sensor, gyroscope, accelerometer, and proximity sensor.
Price and Availability
Xiaomi has announced that the new Mi Max smartphone will be available in three storage variants priced at an affordable price range:
- 3GB RAM, 32GB Storage – CNY 1,499 (roughly Rs. 15,000) which is powered by a 1.8GHz Hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor.
- 3GB RAM, 64GB Storage – CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs. 17,000) which is powered by a 1.8GHz Octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor.
- 4GB RAM with 128GB of storage – CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 20,500) which is powered by Snapdragon 652 processor.
The new MIUI 8 unveiled by the company features a Power Saving Mode that freezes background app activity, and confines chain start-ups. The MIUI 8 Developer ROM supported devices include Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4c, Mi 4S, Mi 5, and Mi Max. The Xiaomi Company says that the MIUI 8 China ROM will be available for beta registrations from May 16 while testing of the beta build begins from June 1.
