In the year 2006 it was bought by Google for $ 1.65 billion. Youtube now operates as one of Google subsidiaries. This site allow user to upload, view rate, share and comment on videos. Most of the content on Youtube has been uploaded by Individuals, but Media corporations including CBS, the BBC, Vevo, Hulu and other organization also offer some material via YouTube.
Recently it has been said that Youtube may be working on a live tv streaming service called “Unplugged”, According to a report the services would offer the users with cable TV Channels Streamed over the internet and packages. The cost for these services is expected to be less than $ 35 per month.
It is planning to release these services in the year 2017 and the Executives companies have also discussed their plan with the companies such as NBC universal, Viacom, Twenty-First Century Fox and CBS.
Youtube has been working on an online cable package since 2012 and also the process of work have been speeded in the past few months, It has also been said that even Apple and Amazon have been working on Similar projects and Proposals, While dish Network and Sony have already introduced them back in December 2015.
Youtube already offers a Subscription which is called as Youtube red, these services offers user an ad-free experience and the ability to watch videos, with selection of original shows and movie. Youtube Red is currently available for $ 9.99 per month.
